The most important needs that must be met by post partum mothers with cesarean section wounds are good nutrition for the immune system and wound healing because there are several nutrients that are needed to support the body's immune system and play an important role in the wound healing process. Snakehead fish is one type of fish that is widely used for wound healing, especially surgical wounds. The nutritional value of snakehead fish is quite high, besides containing mineral acids and vitamin A, it also contains low fat when compared to other fish, but snakehead fish contains protein. The purpose of this case study is to provide an overview of giving snakehead fish extract to the wound healing process after sectio caesarea. Design This study uses a literature review with inclusion and exclusion criteria in accordance with the PICOS format. Methods The research was conducted by searching for sources through an electronic database of articles published through Proquest and Google Scholar (2011-2021) published in Indonesian and English. The keywords used are related to the effect of snakehead fish extract, wound healing and postoperative sectio caesarea. The results of a review of 7 selected journals stated that there was an effect of giving snakehead fish extract on the wound healing process after sectio caesarea. The minimum recommended dose is 250 grams for 7- 14 days. The results of this literature review recommend giving snakehead fish extract to postoperative sectio caesarea mothers to accelerate wound healing.
